Monday, July 12 2010 Home from the hospital Weak, but Happy

Was a long week at the hospital, but home happy and counting blessings.  I had four days of radiation while in the hospital and am feeling the fatigue and weakness effects from radiation.

I was grateful to have my great short haircut for the stay in the hospital, as I did not get to wash my hair until the day I left.  Everyone has been so kind and I thank all of you for your visits, flowers, cards, prayers, and faith.  I am excited to have made it successfully this far and am ready for the days ahead.

It’s great to be home with family.  We will have test results from the biopsy soon, but no news from Dr. Rich (the oncologist) yet.  We will call him tomorrow.  We have to finish radiation before we can make any other moves.

I have a follow-up appointment with the thorasic surgeon Dr. McCann on July 22 at 10:00 am, and then a 2:00 appointment at the Hunstman Center at U 0f U with a Lung Cancer Specialist. Dr Ackerly.

All my l0ve and appreciation go out to everyone of you!!!——–Melanie

Thank you for posting Melanie. It is great to hear your voice in writing. Will and I are praying for you daily and WE know that so many others are doing the same. Your strength astounds me. And if you need any movie advice to watch while being pampered in bed let me know! Love you!
