Catching up – 7/10/10

Hi, it’s me Tim.  Sorry I dropped the ball on consistently posting.  I’ve been working the last several days with an art director and production assistant friends of mine from New York…..so unfortunately, I’ve been somewhat out of the loop that we call “Melanie.”

With Melanie in the hospital since Tuesday it did give me the opportunity to abduct her children and render them as my indentured servants to serve  me and my photographic whims.

As always, her kids were gorgeous and sweet as can be to put up with me and my teams’ never ending demands for smiles, smirks and in general….uncontrollable happiness…..tiring hard work!  Thanks guys!!

Melanie had her operation on Tuesday where they caused the lung lining to adhere to the walls of her chest cavity….sorry I don’t recall the official term for the operation…big words are tough for me.  Jon will post later today with the “glossary of terms” that I am lacking.

Melanie was initially very weak after the operation, but is getting more and more of her strength back with each passing day.

Her sister, Heidi and her husband Adam with their 3 beautiful kids….also photographic victims….were visiting all week.  Heidi spent 3 nights with Mel in the hospital to make sure the nurses minded their P’s & Q’s while Melanie slept.  Thank you Heidi!!!!

The surgery is also looking more and more successful with each passing day as well.  The pocket of air is getting smaller and smaller and the fluid build-up has slowed down and continues to lessen each day.

We are hopeful to have Melanie back at home by Monday so that the round the block waiting line to get in and see her can resume.  We are currently getting quotes and bids to form a “fast pass lane” for those who are so inclined.

Melanie has been sleeping better these last several days and getting more rest……due in major part to Shay, a male nurse and his wonderful concoction of medical goodies that help Melanie relax and fall fast asleep.  Hooray for Shay!!!!

As always, we appreciate everyone’s thoughts, prayers, flowers, cards……….and chocolate.  I especially am thankful for the chocolate since Melanie has always been and continues to be an amazing “sharer.”  Bless you Melanie!
